It’s nearly the end of the summer – where did it go? In an effort to keep the party vibes going, I thought I would put together a few tips for creating the kind of party for all seasons. that guests just won’t want to leave.

GET PERSONAL

Being invited to a party should make your guest feel special, so always send personal save-the-dates, emails, and a jolly follow up reminder a couple days before the event.

GET PARTY READY

Put away the bits and bobs you don’t want your guests to see, but make sure you leave out your favourite and statement features so your guests have something more to talk about. Remember, the kitchen will be the heart of the party so make sure you try and lure people to other rooms – crowd control is key.

BRING THE OUTSIDE IN

If there is a party or not, I always have botancials dotted around my home. Rich, lush foliage is a great way to make your rooms look instantly refreshed and adds colour.  Don’t neglect the bathroom, it deserves some flowers too.

KEEP THE DRINKS FLOWING

Most guests will turn up with a bottle or two in hand, but it is never enough to keep the party going. Invest in fun drink jugs and dispensers, and have a fun cocktail on hand for guests to help themselves.

SNACKS, SNACKS, SNACKS

A party is not a party without nibbles. Check out my Bank Holiday menu for some simple party recipe ideas.  Having an eclectic mix of serving plates, boards and dishes is a fantastic way to make your nibbles more attractive.
