With my job I’m lucky enough to meet, work with, interview and snoop around the homes of some wonderfully creative people. This is great news for me, but hopefully good news for you guys too – I’m always grateful to the people who generously give their time and ideas to help make this blog a more inspiring place to hang out! So I thought we should wrap up a great year with one more quick Q&A from some of the coolest collaborators around. Yesterday I lifted the lid on our Christmas traditions. Here some of the most stylish people in the biz share theirs, and trust me, it’s a whole other level!

JEAN-LOUIS DENIOT, INTERIOR DESIGNER

jean louisBEST EVER CHRISTMAS PRESENT:

Every Christmas present is very special to me as it represents a thoughtful gesture, no matter what the present is! The care and thought that goes into gift-giving is a present in itself.

And I find a Christmas present for myself every year. Last year, it was a cool piece by artist Jérôme Robbe. This year, Santa brought me a penthouse on Miami Beach… the perfect spot to display last year’s Christmas present!

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS TRADITION:

My Christmases aren’t the most traditional. I organise a Christmas dinner with a small group of friends and a Christmas lunch for a bigger group of about 40. It’s a very fun, motley family of friends, gathered around a ‎giant tree, with a trillion candles, a ton of champagne, and a good playlist turned way up… for me, it’s the only way to celebrate the season! deniot.com

SOPHIE ASHBY, INTERIOR DESIGNER

0sophieashbyBEST EVER CHRISTMAS PRESENT:

My mum knitted me a cream blanket a few years ago, I use it every night when I’m curled up on my sofa. It’s so cosy and always reminds me of her.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS TRADITION:

Our Christmases are usually spent at our family home in the sunny Algarve, Portugal so they are pretty unusual and non-traditional. We normally don’t have a Christmas tree and use a cactus instead! Christmas Day always starts with a walk on the beach with the dog. studioashby.com

BEST EVER CHRISTMAS PRESENT:

It was a pearl collar I got two years ago… I’d always wanted one, ever since seeing the Sex & the City movie years ago!

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS TRADITION:

Me and my best friends always throw a big party the week before Christmas. Everyone brings food and wine with them, and we swap presents and play the Xmas Game. I don’t know if you have this game in England? You place all the gifts on the table, and roll a dice to decide how many presents you get! Every time you roll a 1 or a 6 you can pick a present from the table. When the pile is all gone everybody unwraps together, so we finally get to see what everyone got! The best gifts can sometimes start a funny fight between couples…  some guests go away with no gifts and some have huge piles but it’s always good fun. @marieolssonnylander

HILARY ROBERTSON, STYLIST & AUTHOR

0hilaryBEST EVER CHRISTMAS PRESENT:

My black Micro Scooter that my husband bought at Paragon Sports, NY. It’s been a super useful, fast way to get around New York City.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS TRADITION:

My tradition is to watch the movie Charade with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn every Christmas morning. We have a projector at our upstate NY house and so I love to watch it on a big screen.  hilaryrobertson.com
