Hi everyone, I hope you’ve got your notebooks and pens at the ready, because this week’s House Crush is a texture masterclass! We’re off to Helen’s cool pad, where she plays with texture in so many ways. Snuggly and strokable materials abound, think sheepskins, vintage textiles, chunky knit cushions and her own cowhide furniture, plus a Moroccan rug she’s draped over her sofa, Wild Bill style! Oh and check out the trompe l’oeil log wallpaper that blends into a real log pile, just fab.

As well as teaching us all a thing or two about texture, Helen shares her top styling tip, and the DIY project that snowballed into setting up her own biz! Thanks so much Helen for showing us round your home, and best of luck with your biz too. If you can’t get enough of Helen’s “East End meets West Coast” style, you can see more pics at{Helen Stiles}. Enjoy!

Welcome to my pad. It’s a pretty ordinary 1920’s semi, in a leafy East London suburb. I live with my husband and kids. With three children under 6 it can get very busy and chaotic!

My style in 5 words… East End meets West Coast.

I love the urban, slightly industrial style of East London, but also the relaxed, collected, eclectic style of West Coast California.
