PLOT is my new restaurant crush. Based in cool and trendy Tooting this small but perfectly formed restaurant is the place to hang out. Close to the entrance of Tooting Broadway’s Market the charming staff serve up British small plates with all of the ingredients sourced as locally as possible. From their fabulous fishmonger in Clapham, Moxon’s, which get their fish from all around the British coast to pale ale brewed around the corner in Gipsy Hill.

The menu has been beautifully refined (short enough to almost order one of everything) and is all about small seasonal sharing plates. I love they use local produce, not because it’s trendy but just because the food and drink the locals make, is just too good not to use. Who knew Wandsworth had honey?!

As the menu is seasonal they mix it up a lot, so whenever I go, there is always something new to try. I am currently in awe of their Truffle Macaroni cheese – it is sit up tasty and has oodles of flavour. Not to mention their deliciously delicate Cornish Monkfish – ooowww, take me back! If you can fit it in, ask for their famous buttery, sweet Bakewell Tart, it really is heaven sent. Well done!

But great restaurants aren’t just about the food. They also need great service and ambiance to stick in our minds. And that’s where Plot shines. The fabulous team are clued-up, friendly and super-nice. Despite being situated in the loveable, retro-throwback of a building it compliments the whole ambience and the design aesthetic is just super-cool. Elle Decoration recently featured these guys as one of their small but perfectly formed restaurants too.

These guys are smashing it, so book your place and get stuck in. Bon Appétit!
