Anyone following the blog yesterday will have noticed that we’re holding a SAMPLE SALE this Saturday. We’re making room for lots of new things and tidying up in the process. You’ll find many one off pieces from my pad (blue chairs/old teal desk/zebra rug and quite a few other things) plus all sorts of samples, one-offs and discontinued pieces. It’s for one day only and some of the items are big (and hugely discounted) like a giant free standing kitchen island that was £950 and is now £150. We have a cool selection of lighting, super cool pendants, beaded chandeliers, metal barrel shades plus some shaggy shades and lots of one-off botanicals and flowers, oh and also some really cool wreaths!

We are super excited to hold our sample sale in Hackney Walk,  a fashion outlet with labels like Matches, Gieves & Hawkes, Joseph and Ugg to name but a few who also have up to 70% off. Like I said, it’s for one day only, and there are some seriously cool bargains to be had.

Down to biz and Easter, I’m in the air for part of it (anyone who follows the blog will know planes and I are not best buddies).

If you’re not on a plane like moi, then it’s time to crack open the hot cross buns, eat your body weight in chocolate and prepare your home for guests – and lots of them. If you’re hosting Easter this bank holiday fret not, folks — a cramped living space or lack of entertaining ideas is no excuse to cancel your festivities.

With the weather heating up you may want to consider taking things outside. Or if you don’t have an outside area, keep to a space you feel relaxed entertaining in. A successful garden party or dinner party doesn’t demand anything elaborate – just simple food, fabulous decoration, good company and a convivial setting. Don’t feel as though you need to break out the fine china, an eclectic mix feels more laid-back. Flowers are always a great choice and faux flowers means you can re-use them for your next party too!

Make your dining space cosy and somewhere you would want to linger for, for a while – think cosy cushions and soft lighting. If you are feeling adventurous think about moving your lighting around and play around with scale. I love my Lazzaro Chandelier that hangs above my kitchen table, it adds a focal point and never fails to give a little glamour to a dinner party. If your budget doesn’t quite stretch to new lighting, you can never go wrong with candles. I love simple tea lights coupled with reflective surfaces to give some magic to a space.

Make sure you mix up your glassware – wine glasses, tumblers, water jugs, decanters – whatever your serving up keep it simple and smart. Don’t be afraid to mix and match textures and go for glam. Remember, the way a table is set can contribute to the ambiance of a meal as much as the food and wine. Go wild and have fun!

I loved this dinner party above. We had such a fun time – and a huge feast too! Get your hands all over the products above in the Shop The Look below. Don’t forget about chairs too. I really don’t like the idea of a guest tucking into their lunch perched on their laps. Even if you take one of the sofa’s and pull it to the table – there is also space for one more.

Last but by no means least, FLOWERS! Easter for me is a great excuse to splash out on an array of flowers. From table centrepieces to hand-tied bouquets –  watch this space for my guide to flowers for Easter. We did some filming at the new Heal’s store with my new fabulous florists and created some real flower corkers.  Can’t wait for you to see them!

Here are a few flower ideas to help inspire your Easter arrangements. Don’t forget the girls can put arrangements together for you at Heal’s if you need them for your Easter soirée!
