I love styling up coffee tables – couple of books, bunch of flowers, and some blooms wam bam you’re done! Remember the more layers the more intrigue. Here are some of the most stylish coffee tables from my book COLOUR, plus my go-to tips:

ADD HEIGHT

Whenever you style something up you always need to consider the height of things so candlesticks or vases are great for drawing the eye up and trays and platters perfect for bringing the eye down. Make sure those platters have something on them like an object, a posy or some books.

BOOKS

I love books splayed out in a grid like fashion for long coffee tables – they add layers they add interest and you can add something on top for added interest.

BOXES & TRAYS

I don’t know about you guys but I can’t have remotes out on display (migraine inducing) mine go in drawers or stacked boxes on the table so they are easy to grab but always out of sight. Trays and bowls also perfect for corralling random bits and bobs so they’re all in order and look perfectly styled.

PLANTS

A fabulous option – not only do they add an outdoor twist, they always bring any surface alive.
